I am entering information for my Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) application. I plan to pay my study abroad expenses using a student loan. How should I enter this information?

In the “Tuition and Living Expenses Payment Method” section, select “Other” and enter your student loan details.

  1. Go to Basic Information – Step 2
    Select “Other” under “Who will pay the expenses?”.

  2. Enter the payment method details
    A field will appear asking you to “Please enter the payment method in detail.”

    • Enter the name of the student loan, if available.

    • English or Japanese is recommended.

    • Click Save.

  3. Go to Payment Allocation
    Enter the amount paid from the student loan:

    • Tuition (annual amount)

    • Living expenses (monthly amount)
      👉 Enter all amounts in Japanese yen (JPY).

  4. Go to Detailed Information

    • Select whether the loan amount is monthly or yearly.

    • Enter the amount in the original currency of the loan.

    • Click Save to complete.

How to Proceed

  • Make sure all amounts are entered correctly.

  • Check that the information matches your student loan documents.

Important Notes

  • If you use a student loan, you may be required to submit proof of loan approval.

  • Accepted documents include:

    • Loan approval notice

    • Loan certificate

  • If you have not received the document yet, contact your school and inform them:

    • That the loan is approved or under process

    • When you expect to receive the document
